The Grade XII Sociology syllabus is divided into two compulsory parts - Part A: Indian Society and Part B: Change and Development in Indian Society. Each unit carries separate marks and together they form a 3-hour examination of 100 marks.

Overall focus: Structure and diversity of Indian society, social institutions, inequality and exclusion, cultural diversity, structural and cultural change, democracy, rural and industrial transformation, globalisation, mass media and social movements.

Part A: Indian SocietyPart B: Change & Development in Indian SocietyTime: 3 Hours · Both Part A and Part B are compulsory.

Instructions: The syllabus is organised into two parts with separate marks for each unit. Certain units are non-evaluative - they are compulsory for study and project work but are not assessed in the final written examination.
